Preboarding refers to the time between when you accepted your offer and your first day at CHOP. During this time, you will be required to complete tasks. Because the community trusts us with caring for children, CHOP requires some additional checks and clearances above and beyond what others may require. All must be completed by no later than 1 week prior to your proposed start date. If any items are missing or incomplete your start date will be delayed. Your Preboarding Coordinator will help you navigate through all of your requirements.
Be sure to review the Preboarding Checklist for information on required steps for completing your preemployment requirements.
Please be advised: The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services does not allow completion of the FBI or Child Abuse applications outside of the United States which will delay the preboarding process. Foreign Nationals should plan to complete both of these as soon as they arrive in the country in order to be able to start within the 30-day window of arrival. If you are a Foreign National, please visit our Office of Immigration & Visa Services site.
